The Cannonau grapes are grown on the Palagorrai vineyard in Mamoiada in central Sardinia, a region showing outstanding potential. The Mamoja sticker on the neck symbolises that Mussennore are part of the Mamoja Association, 1 of only 21 wineries, established in 2015 to promote higher standards than those required of the Cannonau di Sardegna DOC. This provides the guarantee that the wine has been made at low yields, with manual harvesting and the use of indigenous yeasts.
Tasting Notes:
Pronounced fruity and floral aromas and flavours with a savoury finish. Fresh, full bodied rose and typical of the Mamoiadi area.
Serve at 12°C.
Vinification:
The grapes are carefully selected by hand and following a delicate pressing the maceration on the skins is only brief for around 2 hours. This is followed by a very delicate pressing, fermentation from indigenous yeasts and then the wine is left to mature for 8 to 10 months in steel. Once bottled this wine continues to age in the bottle before release.
