As shown on the label this wine is named after the tale of Anaràde women with feet of a mule. Hidden during the day, Anaràde came out at night to feast on people. Thus, to protect the village, the inhabitants of Roghudi in Calabria would seal the door facing Agriddhèa and the Plache at night.
This wine is a fantastic blend of local grapes: Calbrese (40%), also known as as Nero d’Avola, Nerello Mascalese (20%), Alicante (35%) and Syrah (5%).
Tasting Notes:
This combination of grapes produces a full bodied wine with bold flavours of concentrated ripe black fruits, softened by the vanilla, smoke and gentle spices from the 10 months it spends in oak barrels.
A noteworthy, harmonic wine which goes well with roast, grilled and braised meats or strong-flavour cheeses.
Serve at 18-20°C.

Vinification:
After grapes are gently de-stemmed and pressed they are left to macerate for seven days at controlled temperature with frequent pump-overs and delestage to allow the extraction of flavours and colour. The alcoholic fermentation continues in thermo-conditioned stainless steel tanks, the wine is decanted and completes its malolactic fermentation and maturation in stainless steel tanks. After, the wine ages for about 10 months in 500-litre barrels and in bottle for a minimum of 6 months.
