Made from 100% Nebbiolo in the prestigious growing area of Castiglione Falletto where the grant of land for growing vines is reserved for the making of ‘important wines’.
The wine is macerated for 8-10 days in barrels and aged in tonneau (500 litre large barrels) for 6 months with further refinement in the bottle.
Similar to Barolo (and often referred to as “baby Borolo”) the colour is a light ruby red with hints of orange, it has an intense, vinous and fresh aroma – floral and fruity scents reminiscent of fresh fruit with a light note of wild rose. On the palette it has soft and fresh muscular but fine tannins, it is medium to full-bodied wine with a persistent finish. Pairs well with braised or grilled meats, Italian pasta, and spicy dishes, as well as soft cheeses, goats cheese and parmigiano reggiano .
