Highly recognised an exquisite rare wine amongst the best in Italy and a superb expression of the elegance of Nerello.
The grapes are grown at an altitude of 520 meters which, whilst ideal for winemaking in this part of the world defy difficult practices for winemakers. The terrain is foreboding, yet the end to end production is carried out entirely manually reflecting a commitment to sustainable agriculture, saving energy and waste as well as promoting the prevailing ecosystem.
Tasting Notes:
Concentrated clear ruby colour. On the nose, hints of violets and musky rose, then of dark notes of Mediterranean scrub, vegetable bark, rust and rhubarb that is corroborated by balsamic, liquorice and salty notes. On the palate it is full of gentle strength, fine tannins and great extraction, the alcohol diluted by a tartaric freshness that closes with a long savoury and vegetal finish.
Perfect with all meat dishes, salami, swordfish, tuna, roasted octopus, mature cheeses, dark chocolate and dried figs.
Serve at 18 °C.
