This wine comes from 7 lines of vines in the San Lorenzo cru in the heart of Barolo, just a stones’ throw from Cannubi. Only 1,000 to 1,200 bottles are made each year from 100% Nebbiolo and grown in the esteemed soil known as the “St. Agata” fossil marls.
The wine is a ruby red with flashes of orange. On the nose it is intense, persistent and fine with aromas of blackberry, ripe blackcurrent and strawberry tree, a light note of slightly dried rose, balsamic vegetal, liquorice and white pepper. The wine is dry, fresh, savory, very warm, rightly tannic, full but slim, fairly persistent with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste. Pairs well with roast meats and strong aged cheeses.
