This wine comes from ancient vineyards located on the overlooking hills of Cirò, the most prestigious wine region in Calabria. It is an intense red wine, authentic expression of the territory and Gaglioppo’s character. Gaglioppo is a relative of Sangiovese so we call this our Chianti of the south as it has very similar characteristics.
Two generation gaps in a single label: ’07′ the year in which Enzo and Stefania’s eldest son was born; ’27’ the year in which Enzo’s father came to life.
Tasting Notes:
Brick red in colour, with notes of spices and plums and berries on the nose. The character is intense, full in body with a perfect balance of tannin and acidity thanks to the two year aging process in tanks, oak and bottle. A pleasantly long finish.
Perfect with second courses based on game, fine meat, semi-aged cheeses.
Serve at 16°- 18°C.
