Chianti Montespertoli DOCG is one of the 7 Chianti sub-zones just south west of Florence, the smallest and the only sub-zone which is limited to the territory of a single village. Giulio Tinacci, the producer of this wine, is the president of the Montespertoli Winemakers’ Association which was established to promote the producers of the area and all aspects of the wine: the wines themselves, the territory, the landscape and wine tourism.
This Chianti is made from 80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo, and 5% Colorino grapes. It’s a very approachable, fresh, enjoyable wine, either on it’s own or with food.
Tasting Notes:
On the nose floral notes of violet and lavender which give way to fruity raspberries, strawberries and red currents with aromas of cut grass and tomato leaf. On the palate there are fine tannins with good freshness and elegance.
Pair with meat pasta dishes and fillet steak.
Serve at 16-18°C.
Vinification and Aging:
The grapes are manually harvested in small crates. Following a spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks the wine is moved into rough concrete tanks for 12 months to mature, followed by a further minimum of 6 months in the bottle.
