Two Salento villages among the most beautiful villages in Italy: orange flags for Specchia and Corigliano

The prestigious award has been awarded by Touring Club to municipalities with less than 15 thousand inhabitants that stand out for their tourism excellence. 


The Touring Club awarded the Orange Flag for the 2018-2020 to Specchia and Corigliano d’Otranto which were said to be among the most beautiful villages in Italy. Over 2 thousand applications for the prestigious award were considered and 13 orange flags were awarded to towns and villages in Puglia. In addition to Specchia and Corigliano in the province of Lecce, Alberona, Rocchetta Sant’Antonio, Orsara di Puglia, Troy, Bovino, Sant’Agata di Puglia and Pietramontecorvino in the province of Foggia, Locorotondo and Alberobello in the province of Bari, Cisternino and Oria in province of Brindisi were also awarded.
