“Penne al dente 2018”, journalists become chefs for the day

The jury selected the competitors for the 2018 edition: here are all the names. After the race, the chroniclers’ dinner with the zero km products of Campagna Amica Lecce. 

Chef journalists for a day with al dente Penne. This year the race that tests local journalists is back, once again away from computers and struggling with fires and ingredients. The jury led by chef Andrea Serravezza selected all the teams and recipes in competition for the fifth edition of “Penne al dente”, the gastronomic competition organized by Coldiretti Lecce.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, January 25, at 17, at the Bellavista Club of Gallipoli. The competition will take place on the opening day of the “Figilo”, the Festival of local journalism (the complete program on the website  www.figilo.).

To challenge the kitchen will be the journalists Antonio Gnoni who proposes “Torchetti limone e pepe (of the duke) stracciatella and beaten of raw prawns of Gallipoli, Azzurra De Razza (in the kitchen with Marco Mascellani) with” Asciutto di vinestrone con sagne ‘ncannulate di bianco “, Barbara Politi (together with Maurizio Colucci) with” Tagliolino flavored with lemon and rosemary, with mackerel, Celline olives, toasted bread with final burratina “, Fernando D’Aprile proposing” Orate in Aldomare di caperi “, Davide Stasi (together with Maria Lotronico) with the recipe “Sagne ‘ncannulate with rocket pesto, cherry tomatoes and burratina”, Diego Contino (and Samantha Centonze) with “Sagne’ ncannulate au gratin with mussels and zucchini”, Fabiana Pacella (and Laura Stefanelli) with “Bruschetta scant of paparine and ruècculi in pate,with celline olives and orange rain, walking with the local carpaccio in carpaccio “, Ilaria Lia (with Lucia Buttazzo) with” Vegetable Samosa on a bed of rocket pesto “, Rosaria Bianco (in tandem with Leda Cesari) with” Maccheroncini with violet artichokes and Crispy Martina Capocollo “, Valeria Blanco (paired with Antonella Margarito) with the recipe” Pizzarieddhi Schiattarisciati “.

The ten teams will be assisted by as many chefs: Fabio Cosi (Caroli Hotels), Danilo De Matteis and Patrizia Taccone (Masseria Gianpaolo Del Re Refuge), Antonio Campeggio (Arte Bianca), Massimo Vaglio (I Corsari), Maddalena Merico (Masseria Mongiò Dell ‘Elefante), Mimino Simmini (hotel Risorgimento Resort), Vincenzo Longo (Tenuta Monacelli), Danile Bascià (I Minuti Piaceri), Walter Cretì (Agriturismo Li Mori).

The competition will last two hours, will be conducted by journalist Pierpaolo Lala and chef Fabiano Viva and will be cheered by an aperitif offered by Coldiretti Lecce to everyone present. In stove turned off, a jury of quality will decide the winner of “Penne al dente 2018” which will win a pantry of products from Campagna Amica Lecce.

And after the fun culinary competition, starting at 9.00 pm, a riot of flavors and conviviality with the “Cena del giornalista”, organized by “Figilo” and with a menu signed by Campagna Amica Lecce (dinner cost: 20 euros per person). Special discounts are also provided for journalists who decide to stay at the Bellavista Club during the event: 40 euros per person bed and breakfast, 45 euros half board, 60 euros full board.
